Our first micro-loan has been completed! Happy Holidays! While the weather outside is getting colder here in Boston, things are heating up at philanthropist.org! Our group is working tirelessly to improve systems functioning and communications within the organization, seeking sponsorship and advertising partners, and also looking to fill seats for our Micro-Finance Field Study slated for late winter. Among the many major milestones during the early stages of this exciting startup, we are happy to announce that our first loan transaction has been completed! While the idea of micro-credit and micro-finance is not new to many people, this is a pivotal step in our objective: to provide a platform for lenders with a social conscience to invest and change the lives of workateers who have limited access to working capital. We are proud and excited to say that our organization has processed such a web-based transaction, the mission with which we intend to continue. In related news to the venture, we have now conducted several months of philanthropist.org open house working sessions right here in downtown Boston. People from various backgrounds within the city have met to learn, discuss, and extend their help and resources for our foray into the social investment space. There have been great brainstorming sessions, where attendees have asked tough questions regarding our platform, as well as potential obstacles we might face in the future. We believe this type of outside investigation will only help our organization fortify its mission, and create a more unified approach in doing so. Our Open Houses have also provided an opportunity for continued surveying of public opinion regarding our structure, and the different features our platform may provide in the future. Several individuals who attended are excited to continue working with philanthropist.org throughout the coming months. New members have been warmly welcomed and we are thrilled to have their support. As always, if you are interested in a partnership of any kind, or are aware of someone who might be, please contact us. We are also continuing our search for 10 seats for the January Micro-Finance Field Study. The town of La Isabella will be the site for our pilot program. We our looking to revisit this amazing town and continue to profile the wonderful people of this area. La Isabela happens to be where Christopher Columbus first set up camp in the New World and is home to the very first Church in America. With your help we will continue to identify more entrepreneurs who seek access to credit, and eventually match them to philanthropists and social investors around the world. Please take a look at one of our featured profiles, Ramon. Our trips will allow you and your coworkers to have the experience of a lifetime. Not only do you travel to an amazing location you will be doing work that will shape people's lives forever. Space is Limited - Register Today.
